To keep everyone as safe as possible, we are taking the following measures during the COVID-19 pandemic:
We are attempting to divide the office into sick and well sections, using separate entrances. You may be asked to remain in your vehicle and check in by phone if your child is sick. We have a back entrance to be used for sick visits to limit exposure to the well patients. For well visits, If the child is sick or the person bringing the child is sick, please let us know immediately, before coming to the office. Please call the office for instructions.
Our office staff will be asking screening questions when you call to schedule an appointment. This may mean more hold time or busy phone lines during peak hours. Please be patient with us as we do our best to provide safe and appropriate medical care for your children.
We ask that only the child and one healthy caregiver come in for the visit. Please limit family members to limit your exposure to illness within our office. No siblings or extra adults at the visits please.
If you are worried that you or your child may have COVID-19, or were exposed to someone with COVID-19, or if you have traveled outside of Michigan in the last 14 days, do not come to the office. We can NOT test for COVID-19 at this time. Call us for instructions.
Do not come in to the office for minor cold symptoms. Kids are, in general, very mildly affected by this illness and rarely need any treatment. If you suspect they have the illness, please stay home.
Examples of reasons to bring your child in would include concern for strep throat, ear infection, pneumonia, asthma, abdominal pain, allergies, rashes, or injury etc. Please call the office to answer screening questions and schedule an appointment.
Bring your own book, toy and mask if you have it.
If you prefer to wait in the car, we can call your cell phone when an exam room is open, and direct you to the appropriate entrance.
On arrival in the office, sanitize your hands.
We are implanting increased cleaning procedures in the office, including cleaning all surfaces in the office multiple times per day, removal of all books and magazines or shared items.
We will continue to make changes as needed based on new information and announcements. There may be times we need to make changes to our scheduling to best protect our patients and staff. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.
